What is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm is an injectable dermal filler made with hyaluronic acid to boost volume and skin elasticity. Because Juvéderm restores volume to saggy skin and hollow contours, it can also plump thin lips and reconstruct facial deformities. Like Botox®, Juvéderm is a safe, effective cosmetic treatment that provides temporary results.

Which areas does Juvéderm treat?

Unlike Botox, which treats dynamic wrinkles — those formed by repeated muscle movement — Juvéderm fillers target static wrinkles. These wrinkles develop due to the loss of elastin, collagen, and volume. 

If you have saggy skin, sunken cheeks, or jowls, dermal fillers can help restore volume to your skin. The most popular Juvéderm treatment areas are:

• Marionette lines (either side of the chin)
• Chin
• Underneath the eyes
• Lips
• Crow’s feet
• Frown lines
• Nasolabial folds around the nose

What can I expect from my Juvéderm treatment?

Your body naturally produces hyaluronic acid, which stimulates the production of connective tissue to plump your skin. Hyaluronic acid production decreases as you age, but Juvéderm can restore it. This added hyaluronic acid helps smooth deep wrinkles and add volume to saggy skin.

During your initial consultation, you and Dr. Said discuss which areas you want to treat with Juvéderm fillers. If you’re the right candidate for dermal fillers, he’ll schedule you for a Juvéderm appointment.

When you arrive at the office for your appointment, Dr. Said will mark the discussed treatment areas before administering your injections. After the injections, he gently massages the area to ensure the fillers are evenly distributed and natural-looking. This light massaging also reduces your chances of facial swelling.

You can expect minor bruising, swelling, redness, and itching following your treatment, but these side effects should go away within 2-4 weeks. Because fillers instantly plump up saggy skin, you will see results right away.

Avoid sun exposure, alcohol, and high-intensity exercise for at least 24 hours after your Juvéderm treatment to avoid affecting your results.

Juvéderm results typically last 6-24 months, and you can return to Dr. Said for maintenance treatments.
